It looks like the 2003 Daredevil film will not be getting that long rumored part 2, but instead will be receiving a reboot. Not long ago we caught word Spider-Man will be rebooted, and now Daredevil The Man Without Fear will be joining Pete.

Who's writing? Well I'm afraid the good news stops here, David Scarpa may have done a great job with The Last Castle, but he also wrote one if the worst movie ever made, the remake of The Day Earth Stood Still, this is one of those things that could go ether way.

Fox is pushing a reboot for the film now, likely because they're afraid of Marvel taking the film rights back if they don't do something soon. The first film featured Ben Affleck as Daredevil, Colin Farrell as Bullseye and Jennifer Garner as Elektra. It was welcomed by some and consider trash by other, the split on this one was almost 50/50, Ben has stated in the past he would never make a part 2, but fans held out hoping for a return of The Man Without Fear to the big screen.

Well now we have it, all be it a reboot instead of a sequel and if the studio likes what David Scarpa comes up with, the next step will be to find a director and start casting. Only time will tell if this is a good choice, personally I'd like to see Marvel get back the rights to both Daredevil and Spider-Man. Given that the best two super hero films out of all of the Marvel films have been Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk (both Marvel Studios films), it seems like the folks at Marvel have a better idea what makes a good superhero flick then the gang at Fox. A reboot may be the best choice really, Ben never really seemed like Matt to me, and though he did a good job, he just didn't feel right.

The first Daredevil film was released in 2003 and was written and directed by Mark Steven Johnson, who also wrote and directed Ghost Rider. Both were met with widely mixed reviews.

I really love MG, the art is fantastic and the story simple, but something full of adventure and wonder that you could pass on the your kids like a classic novel. That being said, I NEVER want them to make a film of it, unless they did it with Tim B at the helm and it was as true to the book as good be, even then…not wanting it to happen.

Speed Racer was alright, it wasn't a fantastic film, but the effects were great and Racer X was wicked. M Fox who played Racer X was fantastic and looked great as a super hero.

Have you seen the costume Bill? If it were red or yellow, you'd swear he could be and was Daredevil. He had a great onscreen presence in it, something that I think is hard to keep when doing these spandex films. I Never felt like Toby was on screen for SM, I felt Batman, I never felt Storm, I felt Wolverine, I never felt Superman, I felt Daredevil. If that makes any sense at all. I think it's very easy for these guys to lose their screen presence in costume.

I wouldn't be caught dead watching Speed Racer. Don't waste your time defending the film….it's not going to convince me otherwise.

I would rather watch a flamin' Mouse Guard movie.

Alright so I'm watching Speed Racer, and then I watched Smoking Aces, and yesterday I was watching Lost….. Matthew Fox is Daredevil. He's a great actor, very fit, and looks the part. Plus, he can do almost all the stunts himself, now just throw Ray Park in with a cameo as Iron Fist and we're set.

That's pretty much where I am. Nic Cage was talking about GR2 not long ago, said he wanted to get away from the campy first one and that while he was proud of it, he wasn't happy with it. Sam was great though lol

I'm pumped for GR2, I love GR, Also Love DD, so the fact they're going to try and keep it alive and move it into franchise status makes me happy.

Personally I enjoyed Both the Daredevil and Ghost Rider films. Looking forward to Ghost Rider 2 which I heard was in the works and as long as Daredevil isn't getting forgotten I guess I'm happy with the whole re-boot thing.
