Alright so maybe we won’t see a crossover event like Donald Duck in Deadpool anytime soon (Sorry Chase, maybe Avengers and Rescue Rangers? or Iron Man and Gizmo Duck?), but it does look like Disney is all ready to buy out Marvel. (To read the whole story click HERE)Is this good? Well DC sold their soul to WB a long time ago, and that hasn’t turned out to be bad yet, sure they made Catwoman and Batman and Robin, but they also made Emmy Award winning cartoons like Batman and Justice league. And one huge thing no one is thinking about is unlike a lot of people out there, Disney has taken great care to protect the integrity of their characters. Think about Tailspin, Ducktales, Darkwing Duck Etc, they updated and redesigned franchises that needed it without ruining them. With Marvel already legendary for taking risks and moving forward, this could work out very well for fans.
What does Stan Lee think about all this? Well he showed up in an interview with CNN to give his take…
It also looks like this deal may give us new movies according to Disney they want to take a look at lesser known heroes. Who’s on their list? According to experts asked by CNN first up may be Namor, Marvel’s first hero. More are already being talked about, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Dr Strange to start. While Disney itself hasn’t confirmed any of these, experts are saying these are the guys Disney might look at first.
With all that’s happened today may be a day you want to remember. This could be the day Marvel went from being the worlds comic leader, to being one of the worlds top multi media entertainment leaders. It could be argued they’ve already reached that place, but with Disney on board for the trip, we can all be sure of one thing, we’re going to be seeing a lot more of our favorite heroes for many more years to come… For better or for worse.
